Two suspected drug traffickers, identified as Chirawat Chat-ngern and Wathanyu Kaenchai, narrowly escaped on Saturday night. A police helicopter and dogs joined in the hunt for drug suspects who currently remained at large.
They had been allegedly hired by those connected with southern Wa rebels who allegedly ran the massive production of the methamphetamine in Myanmar’s Shan state, opposite Chiang Rai province in northern Thailand, according to the deputy police chief.
